The 46^th Annual Meet of the Tandem Club took place on September 29^th and was kindly hosted by Russell and Pat Hand and the Jayroc team at Shawbury. Shropshire BDS was well represented with two of the six turnouts being driven by members on a seven mile route around quiet roads and off-road tracks. The weather was kind to us and it stayed dry if rather breezy.

Nicola Locklin with Rachel Greenslade drove Texas and BigBoy and was awarded her Tandem Bars at the presentation following the drive. Tony Gregory, a returning member, drove the new partnership of his own Oscar and Sue Cole’s Sam the Man – only their fourth time together – with Bev Bish and Judie Hilditch grooming.

After the presentation of awards and drawing of the raffle we were treated to a magnificent barbecue; a very convivial end to an excellent day.

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to making this such a successful occasion, especially The Tandem Club, Russell, Pat and Team Jayroc, and the many stewards and dispensers of port (lifesavers!) who saw us safely around the course.
